Turbine repair

1. Turbine dismantling

With the moving parts of the turbine removed for renovation the casing (penstock) could be shot blasted ready for painting. Unfortunately this revealed how corrosion had weakened the casing and the supporting girders

2. Turbine cleaning

The draught tube had also rusted through so a new stainless steel section was added

3. Fitting draught tube

Finally, the renovated runner and guide vanes were returned to the mill for reassembling into the freshly painted casing
